What is population pyramid?
Also called "age pyramid",
a population pyramid is a pyramid
illustrating the distribution of different age groups
in a population with a horizontal bars representing the number of males on the left and number of females on the right. And if we take a loot at the example pyramids given above, they look very alike. As those, most MENA (Middle East North Africa) nations have similar characteristics in terms of their population. They all are 'expansive' type of pyramid with a broad bast; indicating a high proportion of children, a rapid rate of population growth, and a low proportion of elders. This means that the nations have bright future.

Middle East and North African nations are mostly known for their oil reserve; most of the nations rely heavily on oil industry. Some most flourishing nations among Middle East and North African nations are Saudi Arabia, and Iran with highest GDP, and Qatar, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates with highest income per capita. And some interesting facts are that the average growth rate of oil-exporting MENA countries was 6.3% in 2005 while oil-importing MENA countries had 4.1% average growth. However, oil is not MENA's the only money-making industry. As for United Arab Emirates, their tourism industry flourishes, with their well-known hotel called Burj Al Arab. As such, each nation of North Africa and Middle east has distinct characteristics in terms of industries.
